Having extensive experience and clinical supervision with adolescent and adults in various health settings, I have come to appreciate the uniqueness of each person and the journey they are on to wellness. I am non-judgmental and don't feel it is necessary to shame or parent those I work with. In addition to being a psychologist, I am also a college professor, working with students pursuing master and doctorate degrees and a clinical supervisor. These unique perspective allows me to stay on the cutting edge of research and therapeutic approaches to a variety of issues. I am not a corporate or large for profit practice. One of my specialty areas includes relationship counseling including premarital, cohabitation, marital, parent-child, parent-parent, co-parenting. After the assessment, I may utilize one or more of various evidence based approaches to change because I am not limited to only one approach as each situation is different. I work with a variety of addictive-like behavior, often referred to as "addictionology", the study of addictions. Issues from substance use problems, internet, gambling, shopping, sexual behaviors and such are the focus of this specialty. Approaches may include only one or a mix of couples, individual or group approaches.

I understand the difficulties accessing care for mental health concerns when you need them. Taking that first step shouldn't take months when you are ready to seek help. I provide mental health therapy for adults as well as for family or friends who struggle to support or understand the needs of their loved ones. This is not your average therapeutic approach. I incorporate a variety of therapies such motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, as well as the healing power of Eastern therapies such as sound and crystals. Therapy doesn't have to suck. I am here to listen, support, and guide you on your journey to healing.

Choosing to get help and finding a therapist who you feel comfortable with can be difficult. I offer my clients evidence based practices with unbiased compassion and sincere support on their journey to a new beginning. View 7 Photos My focus is trauma, families, parenting and substance abuse. My methods are eclectic and used as needed depending on the unique goals of my clients. I find using Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy on an individual basis to be (by far) the most effective treatment. EMDR is evidenced based primarily with PTSD. Howerver, I have successfully used EMDR to help clients with PTSD anxiety, depression and many other mental health diagnosis.
